Backplane
Connect up to 5 HobbyPCB boards together. Shared Data/Address bus, reset button, power switch, and RS232 dongle space.
Backplane
What is it?
A simple backplane PCB allowing up to 5 PCBs to share the Data and Address lines of the HobbyPCB 65C02 SBC. It has the same 36-pin pinout as the SBC, Floppy IF board, and VDU board, so all boards connect easily to each other.
The backplane includes provision for:
- Reset push-button — useful when the SBC's own reset is obscured by expansion boards
- On/off switch
- Space for an RS232 Dongle
- 5V PSU connector
Why did I make it?
To be honest, I got fed up with having lots of Dupont cables all over the place!
What makes it special?
PCBs can be plugged in to any slot — there is no fixed position. Each board picks up the Address, Data and Control Bus as needed, so the system is completely flexible.
